This Show Is Tonight: Clutch air out ‘Blast Tyrant’ in Boston

Courtesy of Crossroads Presents

Pretty soon Clutch will be celebrating 35 years as a band, which means the hard blues rock mainstays out of Maryland have more than a few albums to air out on anniversary tours. To help close out the summer, Neil Fallon and the boys are taking Blast Tyrant out for some 20th anni action, and they’ve paired with Rival Sons, celebrating 10 years of their own Great Western Valkyrie, for the appropriately named Two-Headed Beast Tour. It plays Citizens House of Blues this evening (September 17), and Fu Manchu open things up.

“We are looking forward to our tour with Rival Sons,” says Fallon. “Both bands have plenty of mutual fans and will garner many more throughout the course of ‘The Two Headed Beast’ tour. We hope to see you there!”

Adds Rival Sons guitarist Scott Holiday: “We’ve wanted to put something together with Clutch for a long time. They’re one of the acts that we could notice people rep’ing at our shows, so we’ve always thought it could make a great double bill! Happy to bring the ‘Two-Headed Beast’ to life! The riff will be strong on this tour …as will the good times!”

All hail the riff.
