One Day Only Fest stacks homegrown acts for sixth edition

Plenty of festivals in Boston are a single day long, but only one claims the title of One Day Only Fest. (Now say that five times fast).

The free Dewey Square music festival returns this Saturday (September 14) between 2 and 8 p.m., boasting an all-ages slate of entertainment that ranges from bouncin’ DJ sets to bouncy houses for the kids. This year marks the sixth edition of the annual festival by Kickback Boston, a brother-sister collective that organizes arts-centric community events, namely the recurring lounge party simply called “The KickBack.”

Massachusetts artists scheduled to perform include Caribbean neo-soul singer ZAMA, rapper Cash Gotti, and Van Buren Records emcee ET (fka Saint Lyor), as well as area DJs SuperSmashBroz (pictured above), Real P, Snax, and Alondrugs. For on-site grub, visitors can grab a bite from Puro Ceviche Bar, Gourmet Kreyol, Fete on Kingston, or Q’TeeCakes.

Like last year, One Day Only Fest is also a component of Fierce Urgency of Now Festival, an initiative that “brings immersive opportunities and topical discussions that impact the quality of life for young professionals, especially young adults of color.”
