Dayglow, The Tour, October 8

Dayglow is a band steeped in reinvention and rejuvenation. The enduring indie-pop project of Sloan Struble has lined up a new self-titled album for the fall — around the same time Dayglow hits MGM Music Hall at Fenway in Boston on October 8 — and it’s being dubbed a “debut” effort after recategorizing the prior three as mixtapes. “With this new record, I view it as a debut,” Struble says. “Self titled, big shabang. The past three records have shown who I was growing up, who my influences were, who I was when I was a kid, so they felt more like mixtapes. Dayglow is finally entering the world in its purest form with clarity and confidence. I want this album to define exactly what Dayglow looks like, sounds like, and feels like.” We got a taste of the new stuff in May with a vibrant bop called “Every Little Thing I Say I Do,” which should sound lovely in a live setting later this year. “I think Dayglow has to be seen live to get the full picture,” he adds. “The vibe during the shows is so inviting and fun. People are either smiling or dancing, but it’s also common to do both. I think this tour is going to be the best yet by far. I feel healthy, happy, and ready to rock.” Tickets go on sale on Friday (June 21) at 10 a.m. local time.
