This has been a pretty remarkable year for Drab Majesty.
Back in January — on Inauguration Day, no less — the Los Angeles darkwave/post-punk project from Deb Demure released The Demonstration, via Gibby Miller’s DAIS Records. The 11-track sophomore effort is a genuine AOTY contender, bolstered by modern-classics like “Dot In The Sky” and “39 By Design,” both of which give a much-needed white air of intergalactic freshness to a familiar and often beaten-down underground sound.
In September, Drab Majesty will take part in Chicago’s Cold Waves, and much like other festival performers, like Front 242 and KMFDM, have outlined a North American tour around the appearance.
Necessary to our interests here in New England is a September 25 show at The Middle East in Cambridge, with support from No Joy. Tickets are on sale now.
On Facebook, Drab Majesty writes: ‘Fall From The Sky’ US Tour 2017 commences this coming Autumn ???????? See you around…. Thrilled to be joined on various legs of the tour by: BOY HARSHER, NO JOY, SOME EMBER, PYRAMID CLUB, & SRSQ (Ex Them Are Us Too) !
