One of the most iconic vinyl records in Boston history is getting a colorful re-press.
This is Boston, Not L.A., the 1982 hardcore compilation featuring 30 tracks in 36 minutes from Jerry’s Kids, Gang Green, the Freeze, Decadence, the F.U.’s, the Groinoids, and the Proletariat (who we hear are planning a reunion), will be exclusively re-released by Newbury Comics. The record is out July 29 via the New England retailer, is limited to 1,500 copies, and comes in four different vinyl color and design variations.
Here’s more from Newbury Comics:
“Originally released on our in-house label Modern Method Records way back in 1982, ‘This is Boston, Not L.A.’ was a call for Boston artists to make their own rules, no matter what was going on elsewhere… this record stands as the most persuasive argument for the vitality of Boston’s hardcore scene.
Available again on vinyl in four unique, limited color pressings with lyric sheet and liner notes included:
Blue & Red split (600 pieces)
Pit Bruise Purple in Blue (400 pieces)
Red, White & Blue Splatter (300 pieces)
