RIP: Attrell ‘Prince Be’ Cordes, of R&B-pop group P.M. Dawn, dies at 46

The 2016 death toll keeps adding to its musical supergroup.

Word tonight is that Attrell Cordes, best known as Prince Be, one half of R&B-pop group P.M. Dawn, has died at the age of 46.

A post on the official P.M. Dawn Facebook page from his brother Jarrett “Doc G.” Cordes, reads, like song lyrics: “Prince Be Rest In Peace Forever More/Pain from diabetes can’t harm you anymore/My Heart is at Peace B-Cuz U suffered so long/Tell Grandma I said Hi & Stay Blisstatic & Strong.”

Cordes was apparently suffering from diabetes, and TMZ reports he died today (June 17) at his New Jersey home.

P.M. Dawn are best known for their 1991 Billboard Number 1 hit “Set Adrift on Memory Bliss,” which sampled Spandau Ballet’s “True”. Pour one out and listen to it below.
