We figured Kanye West would make headlines at some point during tonight’s MTV Music Video Awards, what with him receiving the Michael Jackson Video Vanguard Award and him being, well, Kanye. But apparently the camera caught him frozen in the moment early on in the broadcast.
According to Deadspin editor Timothy Burke, the below is West’s priceless reaction to Macklemore and Ryan Lewis’ live performance of “Downtown,” in which the duo were joined by Sugar Hill Gang and Foxy Shazam frontman Eric Nally outside the Microsoft Theater. We tried to rewind the DVR to see if this actually was shown on TV (we missed it live, but hey, we weren’t really paying attention) but we couldn’t confirm it. So it may have shown on the online feed, or it could just be a goof.
Either way.
Stay tuned for more nonsense, and tune in to the VMAs live stream here.

UPDATE 10:01 p.m.: Aaaaaaaaand here’s some more Kanye fun. He’s been more entertaining trapped in his seat than most of the performers up on stage so far…
