Miley Cyrus gets compared to many things. Oasis and the Stone Roses were probably never on anyone’s list — until now.
In a recent interview with Billboard, British pop musician Lily Allen said that seeing Cyrus live in concert is as good as seeing Oasis or the Stone Roses
We assume she’s referring to those long-gone good gigs the Roses have played, like in the very early ’90s. But either way, Allen watched Cyrus perform in the UK a few months ago and was sold.
“I saw it at the O2 in London [in May], and I’m not exaggerating when I say it’s one of the best shows that I’ve seen in years,” Allen tells the magazine. “It’s up there with an Oasis show or the Stone Roses or something. It’s kind of incredible to watch — she’s a real force. There’s no two ways about it, she’s meant to be up there doing that.”
Allen will have a good seat for Cyrus’ upcoming shows; she’ll be opening up seven dates on the latest leg of the Bangerz tour, which continues Friday night at Nassau Coliseum on Long Island. After that, she’ll set off on her own North American headlining tour that comes to Boston’s House of Blues on September 20.
Allen’s third studio record Sheezus dropped in May. Her run of dates are below…
