At this point in the game, most bands and artists try to create summer anthems based around the three B’s — the beach, babes, and BBQs. Boston garage-rock gentlemen CreaturoS have a different kind of jam in mind, one that raises a glass to a sweet summer look our dads once mastered… but one that has been judged harshly in modern times.
As you spend the weekend at cookouts and Fourth of July celebrations around town, be on the lookout for the daring man rocking some “Short Shorts.”
Though society has tried to suppress and oppress this daring beast, CreaturoS are having none of it. In a new music video from pRIMORDIAL sOUNDS, Cambridge man-about-town Jesse Gallagher and his pup Annie deal with prejudice and condemnation from those around them, all for Gallagher’s quest to bear those pasty white legs from the ankle to the upper thigh.
“‘Short Shorts” is our summer anthem,” CreaturoS’s Noah Bond reports to Vanyaland as we premiere the new video on this holiday-weekend eve. “We wrote the tune last summer when I started wearing some serious SHORT shorts and started getting odd looks from the folks in town. For real tho, NOTHING feels better on a hot day! Long live short shorts!”
True that.
The “Short Shorts” footage was filmed in Cambridge and Somerville last summer, but now that the heat index is turning up and skin coverage is going down, It makes for a perfect guitar-pop jam to kick off the season.
Check out the video below, as well as a free download of the track via the CreaturoS Bandcamp page. Catch the band playing Great Scott on July 18 with Boytoy and Tedici Bacci, and at the 2014 Fuzzstival at the Middle East on August 2.
“Short Shorts” at both are encouraged. You won’t be judged.
