Stepping Up: Here’s the raffle list for this week’s fallen Boston firefighter benefit shows

Nearly $35,000 has been raised by the Boston punk community to benefit the families of the two Boston firefighters who died last month battling a nine-alarm blaze on Beacon Street. And that’s just from ticket sales to tonight’s very sold-out show at Allston’s Great Scott and tomorrow’s equally sold-out event at the Sinclair in Cambridge.

Now on the morning of the first show, the raffle list has announced, and it’s pretty impressive. Those going to the shows tonight can put in from everything from a signed Paul Westerberg guitar to a Bruins jersey signed by the entire team.

Josh Smith of Bowery Boston said co-organizer Mark Lind of Ducky Boys has been tireless in rounding up as many items as possible to raise additional money through the raffle, and many around the city have stepped up to donate.

We’ve raised $34,875 so far just in ticket sales, 100 percent of the money is going to the fund as both venues are covering the rooms and staffing themselves,” Smiths tells Vanyaland. “DigBoston even chipped in to cover a couple flights we needed for Street Dogs.”

Performing tonight at Great Scott are Street Dogs, a reunited Avoid One Thing (their first show in 10 years), Ducky Boys, Lenny Lashley’s Gang of One, the Welch Boys, Burning Streets, and Duck and Cover. The show sold out within hours at a $75 VIP ticket price.

Tomorrow’s show at the Sinclair features a similar lineup, with Slapshot, the Old Edison and Stray Bullets joining Ducky Boys, Street Dogs, and Avoid One Thing. That show sold out within hours at $35 per ticket.

All money will benefit the Lieutenant Walsh – Firefighter Kennedy Memorial Fund, established by the Boston Firefighters Credit Union.

Here’s the word from Smith: “The raffle is only available to those in attendance, however, we encourage people to give attendees their money to buy tickets for them! I actually know a few people doing that.”

Raffle tickets are $1, or sheets of 25 for $20.

“Most of the items will be raffled off each night with a handful of the bigger prizes going the span of both shows, giving everyone the opportunity of trying to win,” Smiths adds. “Those items will be drawn on Wednesday night at the Sinclair, however the winner does NOT have to be in attendance to claim their prize. We will follow up and contact winners if they aren’t there on day two.”

Also for sale at both nights will be silkscreen posters, donated by Pete Cardoso & Ghost-Town, and t-shirts printed by Shawn Flores & Acme Band Supply. The flyer is shown after the raffle jump.
