For those not attending the Boston Music Awards and seeking some comedy instead, ImprovBoston has your Thursday night covered with their weekly SketchHaus show — and this one is not to be missed.
First up on the show is Wild Memory Nation, Boston’s premiere roving storytelling show, featuring three of Boston’s funniest comedians telling hilariously true tales for you to laugh at. This evening, join Johnny Burns, Kindra Lansburg and Brett Johnson as they share tales on the theme “Oops, I Did It Again!”
Following the storytelling is sketch group Vitamin Snake. Do you smell something? Do you?! It’s Vitamin Snake and it’s bad for you. And they beg you to dishonor your family by being in the same room with them tonight as this rag tag sketch comedy group of militant psychos takes the stage.
Rounding out the show is Floodward, whose recent show at the Riot actually caused a riot [editor’s note: we can’t actually verify this]. A slippery mix of high voltage comedy and mind-bending lunacy, Floodward will change the way you feel about feelings. Five full grunts of giggle juice that will addict you from the first hit. Floodward is physical funny at its absolute weirdest. Hosted by comedian David Thomas, you’re guaranteed to enjoy this less-than-wholesome night of entertainment.
Watch some Vitamin Snake action below.
ImprovBoston’s SketchHaus takes place each Thursday at 9 p.m. and is home to an array of experimental, cutting-edge sketch comedy, showcasing innovative formats, original writing and unconventional performances. Carefully curated indie teams from the greater Boston area deliver in-development material, reflecting the raw talents of the New England comedy scene. With Boston’s hippest sketch comedy incubator, you never know what you’re going to get.
Tickets for tonight’s jam are now on sale for $12, and get updated info via the event’s Facebook page. ImprovBoston is located at 40 Prospect St. in Cambridge.
