There’s no place like home for the holidays — just ask Roy Wood Jr. The comedy veteran makes his way to the hosting chair this month, teaming up with Comedy Central through December to make sure it stays that way… at least for the next 31 days.
Returning for its third year, Comedy Central’s 31 Days programming block, which has been rebranded as 31 More Days of Being Home for the Holidays given the current global circumstances, will once again deliver a full slate of holiday-themed entertainment, including holiday-themed episodes of shows like The Office, Parks and Recreation, South Park, and Futurama, as well as stand-up comedy specials, and a slew of movies to keep us laughing through the big sad of the 2020 holiday season. Like Blake Griffin before him, The Daily Show correspondent will steer the ship as he stars in sketches and digital content that will make its way across social media throughout the month, in addition to the scheduled programming.
Starting on December 1, Drunk History: Seasonal Happy Hour will celebrate the most popular episodes of the series, which was abruptly ended back in August. On December 4, Jim Gaffigan’s 2019 special, Quality Time, will make its network television debut, followed by Wood Jr’s Daily Show colleague Michael Kosta’s new stand-up special, Detroit. NY. LA., which will premiere on Friday, December 11. Additionally, in the spirit of network tradition, Jeff Dunham’s highly praised 2008Very Special Christmas Special will air on Christmas Day.
In between all of the episodes and specials will be a movie marathon, taking place every Saturday, which will include titles like Step Brothers, Get Hard, The Wedding Singer, We’re The Millers, 50 First Dates, The Bee Movie, The 40-year Old Virgin and more.
