EELS announce North American tour, including Boston date

'We need to bring the love and positive energy to some of the places we didn’t get to last time,' says E. 'We know you’re hurting.'

Last spring we caught up with EELS frontman E in advance of the band’s show here in Boston, getting the dirt on, and wisdom of, their 12th studio album The Deconstruction. We didn’t realize it at the time, but apparently the tour that brought E and Co. to The House of Blues was considered a short run, with many other deserving cities left off the itinerary. That wrong begins to be undone today, and EELS have announce a new North American and European tour that fills in some previous gaps. But fear not, Boston is still in the mix, as EELS play The Wilbur on April 30.

“We did a shorter tour than usual this past summer, and they were the most fun, exciting shows ever,” E says from Los Angeles. “We need to bring the love and positive energy to some of the places we didn’t get to last time. We know you’re hurting. Help is on the way.”

Peep all the North America dates below, and get on-sale and other info here. Tickets for the Boston gig go on sale this Friday (February 1) at noon.
