Watch pro-shot video of Metallica rip through ‘Whiplash’ at Boston Calling

By now we’ve seen all the shitty phone videos our friends took of Metallica’s headlining and festival-closing set at Boston Calling. And they were all pretty fucking awesome.

But now the band is offering up some pro-shot video of their commanding May 29 appearance at the Harvard Athletic Complex in Allston, and it’s understandably next-level. Earlier in the week, Metallica’s YouTube posted the clip of the dudes tearing through set-opening number “Whiplash,” the first single from their debut 1983 album Kill ‘Em All, and and it’s as close as anyone will get to the fearless foursome without standing in a field for several hours sitting through Peach Tree Rascals, Cults, and Glass Animals. That’s a win!
