The ‘Jurassic World: Dominion’ prologue is finally online

Jurassic World Dominion
Universal

So, if you missed out on seeing F9 in IMAX earlier this year, you might not have realized that there was a five-minute prologue for Jurassic World: Dominion that showed before it. Hell, we didn’t even get the chance to see it in that format, so we totally missed out just like you all did. But as an early Thanksgiving treat for all Dino lovers everywhere, Universal finally made the footage available to view online on Tuesday, and we highly recommend watching it on whatever TV you have available to you. This might blow your minds, given how much we’ve hated the previous Jurassic World installments, but… this is actually kind of fun? Sure, we didn’t need to know exactly how the mosquito got the Dino Blood that enabled this franchise to be a thing over the last 30-odd years, but it’s a good time — and we’re especially excited to see what goofy bullshit awaits the Dinosaurs as they begin to encroach upon the World of Man.

Peep it:

In lieu of a real synopsis (Jesus, they’re playing this thing pretty close to the chest right now), here’s some more info about the prologue, including whether or not you’ll actually see any of this when you sit down to watch Dominion next summer:

‘”The Prologue,’ a new, five-minute special prologue to ‘Jurassic World Dominion,’ directed by ‘Dominion’ director and co-writer Colin Trevorrow, is not featured in the film itself but is separate, original content. ‘The Prologue’ serves as the beginning of a story that will be continued in theaters next summer. ‘The Prologue’ rockets audiences back 65 million years into the past to experience the world before humans existed — and offers a glimpse of a world in which dinosaurs are living among us. The Prologue features seven new species of dinosaurs that have never been seen in a ‘Jurassic’ film before, created by the legendary Industrial Light & Magic, which has created visual effects for every ‘Jurassic’ film, including ‘Jurassic World Dominion.’ ‘The Prologue’ is scored by Oscar winner Michael Giacchino, composer of ‘Jurassic World,’ ‘Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom’ and ‘Jurassic World Dominion.’

Jurassic World: Dominion hits theaters on June 22.
