Bat House buck ‘spooky, scary’ stereotypes with ‘Cute Skeleton’

Screengrab

Bat House would like to buck the ol’ “spooky, scary skeletons” stereotype.

The Boston band gears up for the most wonderful time of the year (Halloween, duh) by humanizing the bony posterboys for October with a tune called “Cute Skeleton” released last Thursday (October 21). The single’s accompanying music video embraces computer-animated camp to depict our titular protagonist breezing through an afternoon’s worth of activities: Grocery shopping, surfing, shredding some psychedelic riffs. The undead, they’re just like you!

Apparently, they’re charitable, too; proceeds from the new single will be donated to Color of Change, an online racial justice organization. Snagging a digital download of some art-rock activism on Bandcamp is a real no-brainer — pun intended.
