Photo Gallery: Mumford & Sons live in Phoenix

Last November, Mumford & Sons dropped their first new album in three years in Delta, and set out on an expansive world tour that will culminate next month, nearly a year later, at Austin City Limits. Last night (September 16), the British folk-rock band played a show they “will not quickly forget” at the Talking Stick Resort Arena in the heart of downtown Phoenix. Gang of Youths, who were to support the group for the next several shows, were unable to perform due to illness. So Mumford & Sons had some fun opening the evening disguised in costume, performing various covers under the moniker “The Sun Never Sets On The Cool Kids.” The band returned to the stage for their main set playing songs from Delta, along with a healthy selection of their classic hits. During the encore the four piece huddled around a single mic to perform unplugged versions of “Where Are You Now?” and Simon & Garfunkel’s “The Boxer.”
