Editor’s Note: Some bands come and go, and some bands are with you all along. Belle and Sebastian have been with you since you first heard them back when you wore a younger person’s clothes, and Saturday night the heralded Scottish indie-pop band led by Stuart Murdoch returned to our fair city for a mid-summer fling at The House of Blues. In September Belle and Sebastian will release via Matador their soundtrack for the upcoming Days of the Bagnold Summer film, but over the weekend on Lansdowne their set was one that focused on the band’s 20-plus-year career. Mary Timony’s Ex Hex opened the show, providing a nice homecoming of sorts for the former Helium musician. Vanyaland’s María Alejandra Mata was in the room capturing visuals of the show, and you can scan through her full gallery below.
