Boston Music Awards unveil ‘Off The Record’ summer live music series

Those with an ear to the calendars have surely noticed that today (June 17) is 617 day across the Boston area. So what better way to celebrate homegrown music than to illuminate a free new summer live music series between the Boston Music Awards and eight local media music publications.

It’s called Off The Record, and it finds the BMAs partnering with a local media outlet for a free party poolside at Hojoko in the Fenway. It all gets started June 28 with the Boston Herald’s local music column Guestlisted, and featuring This Bliss and Magen Tracy & The Missed Connections.

The series runs on select Fridays through the summer and wraps August 30 with KillerBoomBox. The Vanyaland party is August 9.

Other participating outlets include Allston PuddingBoston HassleDigBoston, The Lowell Spin, and others. It’s powered by Campari, Aperol Spritz, Wild Turkey, Wray & Nephew White Overproof Rum, Appleton Estate, Espolòn Tequila.

Check the full lineup below, with bands announced as the series progresses.
