HarpoonFest Spotlight: The Silks

What Vanyaland Says: Providence rock and roll band The Silks made quite an impression on us way back in 2013. That’s when they unleashed their Paul Westerberg-produced debut album Last American Band, and frontman Tyler-James Kelly and the boys have been tearing up stages across New England ever since. With a tireless hustle and a sound that incorporates ’70s rock, roots, and blues — they took home consecutive Boston Music Awards for Blues Artist of the Year 2016 and 2017 — The Silks are most at home on the live music stage, and bring the goods to the sudsy masses this Saturday at HarpoonFest. “Very few bands in Rhode Island know how to bring a party-like atmosphere like The Silks, from Providence,” writes Rob Duguay recently in The Independent. All that fuss and fury goes live and loud this weekend at HarpoonFest. Get into some tunes from The Silks below.
