The third ‘Dark Phoenix’ trailer proves that the third time isn’t always the charm

Dark Phoenix
Fox

We know what you’re thinking — another Dark Phoenix trailer? Didn’t we get one like a month ago? Well, you’re right: yes, we did get another trailer for the final installment of the Fox X-Men franchise (before it’s rebooted and reintegrated into the Marvel Cinematic Universe thanks to Disney’s attempts at monopolizing the entertainment industry) back at the end of February. Problem is, everybody hated it! So, the trailers will continue until morale improves, even if they’re dubbing this one, released by the Zombie Fox on Wednesday, the “final” trailer right now. We bet that, day of release, they’ll drop a new two-and-a-half minute trailer that makes the movie look “funnier” thanks to Detective Pikachu or something else making a billion dollars at the box office. Maybe they’ll make Jessica Chastain into a talking bear or something. Only time will tell!

Here’s the trailer:

And here’s a synopsis:

“This is the story of one of the X-Men’s most beloved characters, Jean Grey, as she evolves into the iconic DARK PHOENIX.  During a life-threatening rescue mission in space, Jean is hit by a cosmic force that transforms her into one of the most powerful mutants of all.  Wrestling with this increasingly unstable power as well as her own personal demons, Jean spirals out of control, tearing the X-Men family apart and threatening to destroy the very fabric of our planet.  The film is the most intense and emotional ‘X-Men’ movie ever made. It is the culmination of 20 years of ‘X-Men’ movies, as the family of mutants that we’ve come to know and love must face their most devastating enemy yet — one of their own.”

Dark Phoenix hits theaters on June 6. Anybody else remember when The New Mutants was going to come out to years ago? Well, we do.
