Photo Gallery: Beats Antique and Axel Thesleff live at Royale

Editor's Note: A Beats Antique show is always both an overwhelming yet comforting audio and visual experience. The Oakland-born experimental world fusion and electronic music group -- composed of David Satori (guitar, saz, viola, and percussion), Sidecar Tommy Cappel (keys, toy piano, drums, and percussion), and Zoë Jakes (belly dancer, composer, and arranger) -- were back in Boston last night (April 4) for a performance at Royale, bringing their Grand Bizarre tour to the masses one stage at a time. Beats Antique's style and sound is unique and innovative, stirring a sonic cocktail of worldly inspiration inside a steel electronica mixer. Vanyaland's Ted Petrosky was in the Theatre District club capturing snaps of it all, including a few of opener Axel Thesleff, and you can scan through his full gallery below.
