Talk Show barrel out of the gate with a post-punk fury on ‘Fast and Loud’

Fast Tracked: The London band make a noticeable impact and only need 139 seconds to do it

The sound of young London is something furious and visceral, and the next in line appear to be Talk Show, a new band that need all of 139 seconds to make a forceful impact. The band’s appropriately-titled single, “Fast and Loud”, is a nuclear jolt of swirling, paranoid post-punk spewed from the gutters of alleyways and intertwined with the poetry of John Cooper Clarke. “It’s ended up being a bleak commentary about cities, but that wasn’t intentional,” frontman Harrison Swann tells Clash. “It’s a stream of consciousness, an imaginary account of a metropolis.” It’s the now and the next, packaged tightly like a bomb.
