There’s a new live music venue coming to the Allston-Brighton area, and it’s a pretty significant one.

The Bowery Presents, a partner of AEG Presents, on Wednesday (March 13) revealed plans for a new 3,500 capacity concert venue at Boston Landing, the current site of the Boston Bruins and Celtics practice facilities as well as New Balance’s headquarters. Bowery’s venue, part of the area’s growing retail and restaurant offerings situated along the Massachusetts Turnpike, is set to anchor “The TRACK at New Balance” development, and will eye a Fall 2021 opening.

It will break ground on the facility April 1, with the venue’s name and other details to come at a later date.

“We are proud to be part of the fabric of the Boston music community, and we are excited to continue our growth as part of New Balance’s new development at Boston Landing,” says Jim Glancy and John Moore, partners at The Bowery Presents, in a statement. “We take great pride in the business our team has developed in Boston, and this new venue will be an exciting new addition to the Bowery Boston family.”

As Bowery Boston, The Bowery Presents currently operates and/or books live music a trio of rooms in the Boston area, including Royale (1,200 capacity), Cambridge’s The Sinclair (525 capacity), and Allston’s Great Scott (220 capacity), as well as promotes shows in theaters and arenas across the region. This new venue would be its largest in-house operation, and hold roughly 1,000 more people than Crossroads Presents’ House of Blues on Lansdowne Street.

“The Bowery Presents has a rich history of developing artists and offering fans great live music experiences from small to large venues,” says Josh Bhatti, Vice President, Boston at The Bowery Presents, in the same statement. “We are excited to bring our passion for developing the best venues for artists and fans alike to Boston Landing.”
