Not many artists drop a hotly-anticipated new track on a Sunday evening — after Daylight Savings Time here in the states, no less — but Shura isn’t quite like most artists. We’ve all been waiting for the British alt-pop singer to drop the follow-up to 2016’s essential Nothing’s Real LP, and the first taste comes courtesy of a warm R&B-flavored jam called “BKLYNLDN”. This new tune also marks Shura’s for effort with her new label, Secretly Canadian, but while there’s a lot of newness all around the world of Shura lately, her lyrical familiarity is well intact as this transatlantic love song of yearning offers up this lyrical spin: “This isn’t love, this is an emergency / Keep thinking of the picture that you sent to me.” Get into it below.
