Peter Murphy’s 40 Years Of Bauhaus, Ruby Celebration, live in Worcester

Photo Gallery: Friday night came undead at The Palladium as Murphy and Bauhaus' David J revisited goth and post-punk classics

Editor's Note: Central Massachusetts is usually pretty dead. On Friday night (February 15), it was undead. That's because goth-father Peter Murphy brought his "40 Years Of Bauhaus" tour to The Palladium in Worcester, a "Ruby Celebration" that boasts Murphy's Bauhaus bandmate David J on bass. Together, and with with the help of guitarist Mark Thwaite and drummer Marc Slutsky, the show featured Bauhaus' 1980 debut In The Flat Field performed in its entirety to open things off before a string of Bauhaus classics ("Bela Lugosi's Dead", "She's In Parties", "Kick In The Eye", and others) and a Dead Can Dance cover ("Severance") closed the night. Murphy reportedly unleashed a "profanity-laced tirade" at one fan in attendance, threatening to come into the crowd and get violent, for apparently throwing something on stage but otherwise the night went off without much unintended drama. Ben Stas was at The Palladium on behalf of Vanyaland capturing visual evidence, including the openers, psych-rock trio Desert Mountain Tribe, and you can eyeball his full gallery below.
