Ryley Walker, Mute Duo, Avi Jacob live at Great Scott

Photo Gallery: The Chicago songwriter and guitarist made good on his spring promise to return to Boston

Editor's Note: When we last caught up with Ryley Walker, when the Chicago songwriter and guitarist played The Sinclair in Cambridge with Calexico, he warned us he'd be back. “I’m definitely going to play the shit out of these songs,” Walker told Vanyaland's Nick Calvino. “We’re going to have two drummers, another guitarist and a bassist, and we’ll definitely expand upon things.” The dual drummer thing may have not materialized, but Walker lived up to all his other promises -- and more. Last night (December 11), he headlined Great Scott in Allston, bringing the songs off May's Deafman Glance LP to greater sonic depths. Bryan Lasky was in the room on behalf of Vanyaland capturing some still images of Walker's performance, as well as shots of Chicago's Mute Duo and Massachusetts folk singer Avi Jacob. Check out his full gallery, in order of appearance, below.
