Bomba Estéreo live at The Paradise Rock Club in Boston

Photo Gallery: The Colombian band brought their 'really cool, awesome, bad ass party' to the 'Dise on Tuesday

Editor's Note: There a few things one should know right off the bat when it comes to Bomba Estéreo. The Colombian band, who played The Paradise Rock Club in Boston last night (December 11) for the latest World Music/CRASHArts event, have been described, according to the internet, as "electro vacilón," "electro tropical," and "psychedelic cumbia." The band themselves say the name is a Colombian term for "a really cool, awesome, bad ass party" -- and that's what went down at the 'Dise. Vanyaland's María Alejandra Mata was inside the Commonwealth Avenue club to capture colorful evidence of it all. "The energy was great, I had seen them before in 2013 in a small club in Somerville and they still have the same electricity on stage," Mata reports. "It was sold out so it was pretty packed, and the crowd was actually fairly mixed, so it wasn't exclusively Latinos. People were going crazy." Check out her full gallery of the action below.
