‘The Intruder’ Trailer: Psycho Dennis, qu’est-ce Quaid

As you probably already know, it’s the Monday before Thanksgiving, and even big time entertainment companies are gearing up to take time off for the holiday. Now, of course, they’ll probably be stuffing their gourds with exotic birds and caviar or attending massive Eyes Wide Shut-style orgies over those couple of days, as opposed to the football-and-turkey that is reserved for the masses, but one fact is shared and immutable between all parties: it really, really sucks to have a two-day work week between you and Thanksgiving. Hence, the trailer for the home invasion thriller The Intruder, dropped on the internet without so much as a hint of fanfare before it presumably plays before Creed II this week, is a victim of this circumstance.

And we kinda think it deserves a little bit better.

Take a look:

See, if you’re going to put Dennis Quaid in your movie, and unleash him and his scenery chewing ways like Liam Neeson released the Kraken, you might want to tell somebody about that! We’re big Quaid fans around these parts, because when the dude is on and having fun, there’s few people that can match him at his own game, a specific set of skills meant strictly to entertain. Plus, it’s always great to see Michael Ealy (RIP Almost Human) and we’re also digging the throwback thriller vibe present in all of this film’s advertising (see: header image). It’s kinda fun!

Here’s a synopsis:

“When a young married couple (Michael Ealy and Meagan Good) buys their dream house in the Napa Valley, they think they have found the perfect home to take their next steps as a family. But when the strangely attached seller (Dennis Quaid) continues to infiltrate their lives, they begin to suspect that he has hidden motivations beyond a quick sale.”

The Intruder hits theaters on April 26.
