Wild Child are ready to take it back and burn it down on ‘My Town’

Fast Tracked: The Austin indie-folk collective drone on in their last video, and play The Sinclair on December 4.

Back in February, Wild Child released one of the more intriguing albums of 2018 in Expectations. The year is quickly coming to an end, but the Austin indie-folk collective still have things to say: One via a new drone spotlight video for their yearning smoke-pop track “My Town”, which Kelsey Wilson says was written “from a very dark and isolated place”; and the other a winter tour that brings the six-piece to Royale on December 4 (update: this show has been moved to The Sinclair). Wild Child’s Alexander Beggins shines his own light on the video: “At the end of last year, we got a small crew of people together to go spend some time out in Teralingua, Texas, just shy of the Mexican border. It’s surreal out there, beautiful and desolate; West Texas in a nutshell. Our director Aaron Brown has a little ranch house out there that we camped out in for a few days but spent most of our time exploring the desert land and were fortunate enough to be allowed to film into some of the towns best kept little secret spots. The entire video really captures a moment in time in our lives.” Get lost in the video below, and peep all the Wild Child winter tour dates after the jump. Featured image by Daniel Mudliar.
