Surf’s up on noise beach as The Vandelles return with ‘Techromancer’

It’s only fitting that at the height of summer (or at least what fucking feels like it), The Vandelles have washed back ashore with sonic vengeance.

The New York City surf-noir trio resurfaced over the weekend with their first new original joint in five years, a gritty firecracker of a tune called “Techromancer”.

It’s a noisy, confrontational guitar-rock ripper that has us all hot, sweaty, and full of eager anticipation for the band’s forthcoming new album, titled Hate Will Bring Us Together. Vocalist, guitarist, and Vandelles ringleader Jasno Swarez tells Vanyaland the sound and vibe of the LP falls somewhere in the realm of “noir Nirvana, BRMC meets Lauren Bacall, Tad and Sonic Youth watching Dark Passage in 1989.”

If that’s not enough to cast a hazy spell, indulge live and in person this Friday (July 13) as The Vandelles play Mercury Lounge with Austin’s Ume.
