Modern Leisure reflect on the 20-something dating scene in ‘Girls In Black’

Dating in your 20s is an absolute shitshow, but if you’re able to emerge from it relatively unscathed, you might develop a chill perspective — and some musical inspiration. Denver indie-pop band Modern Leisure are taking the creative approach, unveiling new single “Girls In Black,” a casual jam that has us all reminiscing on this Thursday morning. Frontman Casey Banker says the tune “is about all of the insane, horrible, and lovely experiences I had and all the wrong people I fell in love with. I was really into the idea of turning the good girl meets bad guy on its head. My 20’s were a washing machine and I just got out.” Banker’s smelling ultra fresh here on “Girls In Black,” and has us excited for Modern Leisure’s upcoming album Super Sad Rom-Com, out June 29 via Guilty Pleasure Records, with the release party going down July 14 at Syntax Physic Opera in Denver.
