Totally Mild rewind their band adventures in new video ‘Take Today’

When you press play on tunes from Totally Mild, don’t expect a listless attempt at indie. Their jangle-pop might err on the muted side, but thematically, the Melbourne-based group manages to come across as emboldened. Their video for “Take Today,” which dropped last week, highlights a carpe diem mentality, quite literally. “Why wait for a slow decay?/Take today” coos lead signer Elizabeth Mitchell, who filmed and put together the video. Following the February release of their sophomore album Her, the “Take Today” video expands on the group’s journey together from the past two and a half years. “This video is a special treat, a Totally Mild retrospective,” Mitchell says. “The good, the bad and the hysterical. It’s behind the scenes footage from past tours and from the recording of Her, featuring the romances and breakdowns that happened in the background of those times.” Hit rewind on the madness below.
