It’s often said that a morning mood is shaped by the hours that precede it. For Timsters, the French producer and artist behind boutique label Elephant & Castle, the emotions during sunrise are meticulously crafted by night; in his new video for the delicate and evocative electronic-pop track “Somewhere,” Timsters spends the overnight in alone in the world but at ease in his own head. He’s venturing towards an unknown destination, attempting to reach a new point by sunrise. It’s a fitting visual for a song that guides further inward with each listen, the type of track you lock on repeat as the night develops around you and you own personal destination begins to take shape. The characters one meets along the way are accessory points — some offers accepted, others declined — all contributing to minor influences that hold true along a proper direction.
