Yesterday’s AFC Wild Card game between the Jacksonville Jaguars and Buffalo Bills was a snooze, but it was relevant to us in New England for two reasons: One, it would determine who would travel to Gillette next weekend to play the Patriots (turns out it’s the Tennessee Titans), and two, Boston native and Berklee alum Susan Tedeschi sang “The Star-Spangled Banner” before the game at EverBank Field.

Despite the local roots, Tedeschi, of Tedeschi Trucks Band, is a Jaguars fan, aligning with her husband, Derek Trucks, who hails from Jacksonville. The couple have had Jaguars season tickets for more than a decade, according to jacksonville.com, so she jumped at the chance to sing the anthem at the Jags’ first home playoff game in 18 years. “When you care about a team — I love the Jags so much — I know I’m going to be nervous,” Tedeschi told the publication last week. “But I think it’s going to be fun.”

The anthem wasn’t shown on national television, but Action News Jax posted video to its Facebook page, and you can watch it below.
