Studio 52 is a community artist space located in the heart of Allston, and is proud to support the Boston music scene and local artist community.
We’re all busy sitting here trying to craft our Best of 2017 lists, and Vundabar is already staking claim to the year ahead. The Boston band has us stoked for 2k18 with the February release of new album Smell Smoke, and following the recent drop of its lead single “Acetone”, the Vundabois are back in action this week with another song joint called “Diver.”
The track is a bit more subdued than your standard Vundaruckus, but guitarist/vocalist Brandon Hagen says that’s by design, as “Diver” is “a document of grief.”
He elaborates: “Diver’ is one of those songs that pours out. I wrote it in about five minutes after two years of impasse and refusal to giving certain feelings shape or acknowledgement. The levy broke and the song is what came out of it. It’s a document of grief, sitting in the wake of loss and taking note of ones location with acceptance but without resolve.”
