What Studio 52 Says: Though we wouldn’t define Tied To A Bear as a stereotypical punk band, their upbeat tempos mixed with punk articulations creates a formula that’s just as engaging and consciously satisfying as any great punk record. Their May 2015 release Safe, Boring & Safe is a 13 song ripper that hits the gas in the opening track and doesn’t let up until the onset of the last. Closer “Plunge” stands out on the album as a lethargic and more methodical piece; it’s the finale that the record truly deserves. It’s a punk record with structure, and it works tremendously well. With another album on the way — hopefully soon — Tied To A Bear are preparing to hit the stage Saturday night (November 11) at Great Scott in Allston to support the distinguished Kicked In The Head on the second night of their return. — Andrew Maroney, Studio 52.
