Studio 52 is a community artist space located in the heart of Allston, and is proud to support the Boston music scene and local artist community.

Over the summer we were treated to news that Belly were heading into the studio to record their first new album in 23 years. Today (October 5), we have a potential street date, as the follow-up to 1995 sophomore album King is set to land April 6, 2018.

And the record will be aided by a Pledge campaign, with rewards that range from a digital download ($10) to Tanya Donelly's very own signed Campbell American Precix guitar ($2,100).

"After a lot of discussion and planning," the band writes, "we’re really excited to announce the launch of a Pledge Music campaign as part of the run up to the release of what will be Belly’s third record on April 6, 2018 (title as yet undecided..)! Head over to our Pledge page to pre-order the record, sign-up to receive updates on it’s progress, and take a look at the Pledge exclusives we’re offering, like signed vinyl, posters, special show passes and other Belly goodies!"

This new third record from Belly was mostly recorded "at Stable Sound Studio in Rhode Island with our old friend Paul Q. Kolderie at the board, and now we’re in the process of recording guitars, vocals and various other overdubs," according to their Pledge. "Needless to say, making a record today is very different from the last time Belly recorded together. And so are the mechanisms of sharing music with our friends and the rest of the world."

The reunited Boston alt-rock band -- featuring Donelly (guitar/vocals), Thomas Gorman (guitar), Chris Gorman (drums), and all-around ass-kicker and cancer survivor Gail Greenwood (bass) -- returned to the stage last summer, and have since embarked on a string of reunion shows, including two dates last summer at Royale in Boston.
