Marilyn Manson’s Boston show postponed after singer crushed on stage in NYC by giant gun prop

UPDATE 6:38 p.m. ET: Marilyn Manson has postponed nine shows as a result of last night’s injury, according to Rolling Stone, including Monday’s House of Blues gig in Boston. “Marilyn Manson is being forced to cancel several of his October dates on his forthcoming US tour,” states the singer’s rep. “On Saturday night, the legendary performer suffered an injury on stage towards the end of his set at NYC’s Hammerstein Ballroom causing him to cut the show short. He was treated for the injury at a local hospital and will be recuperating at home in Los Angeles… The shows from Boston, October 2 through Houston, October 14 will be rescheduled for a later date. Manson hopes to return to the stage soon, more details on upcoming shows to follow.”

We’ll post any news on the new date as soon as we get it.

Marilyn Manson’s show at the Boston House of Blues this Monday night (October 2) is in jeopardy after the singer was crushed on stage last night by a large dual-gun stage prop.

Manson was performing at Hammerstein Ballroom in New York City last night when the incident happened. According to reports, Manson was performing “Sweet Dreams” when he attempted to climb or grab onto the gun prop, which gave way and fell onto the singer. After Manson was tended to on stage by local medics, the show was called off and Manson was taken to a nearby hospital.

Variety reports that Manson “suffered a leg injury” and should make a full recovery, but now the question becomes more about the timeline. Marilyn Manson’s next show on its Heaven Upside Down tour is Monday’s House of Blues gig, with 11 more dates across North America running through October.

While no statement about the show has been issued by the artist or venue (as of 3 p.m. ET Sunday), Manson’s bandmate and collaborator Tyler Bates says the tour “is on pause for a minute.”

In a post to Instagram Sunday morning, Bates adds: “Heading home. Manson will be back in action soon. Heaven Upside Down is released October 6th, with an insane video to stoke the fire. See you soon!”

Watch video of the incident below, check out the remaining dates on Manson’s tour, and see Bates’ Instagram post — which has him boarding a plane; not a good sign — below.
