Editor's Note: Summer is funny like this. There are extended stretches along July and August where there doesn't seem to be too much going on, and then, all of a sudden, there are a million things going down on a random, rainy Wednesday night. That was the case last night (August 2) in Boston, where Belle & Sebastian were at Blue Hills Bank Pavilion, Ruby Rose Fox was at the MFA, Melvins were at The Paradise, and The Shins and Tennis were at The House of Blues. We found a pointed lens down on Lansdowne Street, as James Mercer and his crew brought their Heartworms tour to town, named for their March LP that continues the Albuquerque band's place within indie rock royalty. Ben Stas was at the House of Blues on behalf of Vanyaland to capture snaps of both The Shins and Tennis, safe from the treacherous summer storms outside, and you can view his full gallery below.
