Freshly Squeezed: The music-minded cast of ‘Twin Peaks’ to amplify the show’s return

Right around this time last year, the cast list for the new season of Twin Peaks dropped, and there were a shitload of surprising names on it, like Naomi Watts, Laura Dern, and Tim Roth. Plenty more will be making an appearance on the show, but what truly surprised us were the number of musicians on the cast list, and how odd and eclectic they were.

With Twin Peaks back in our lives this weekend, premiering Sunday (May 21) at 9 p.m. eastern on Showtime, we took a glimpse at the some of the cast and some tracks that we think you might enjoy if you’re in the mood for some Lynchian goodness.

Pro-tip, though: You might not want to watch this on your phone, lest you piss David Lynch himself off.

David Lynch

We couldn’t end this list without the director himself making an appearance, and we’d figure we’d present you with the self-directed video for “Crazy Clown Time,” a choice cut from Lynch’s first solo record that came out back in 2011. Seriously, we can’t do it justice in print — just watch the damn thing.
