Fenway Park nominated for ‘Venue of the Year’ by the Academy of Country Music

Studio 52 is a community artist space located in the heart of Allston, and is proud to support the Boston music scene and local artist community.

Just a few short weeks after Fenway Park plays host to country stars Florida Georgia Line on July 7, the historic ballpark could soon add another title to its ranks: “Venue of the Year.”

The home of the Red Sox, as well as multiple big-ticket summer concerts, was nominated in the “Venue of the Year” category — “Large Capacity” division, kind of like the American League East — in the 2017 Academy of Country Music Awards. Fenway’s nomination comes on the ACM’s Industry Ballot, which also celebrates promoters, nightclubs, casinos and festivals.

The awards take place on August 23 at the Ryman Auditorium in Nashville.

In the battle for “Venue of the Year — Large Capacity,” Fenway has some competition just south of Boston, as the XFinity Center in Mansfield made the cut alongside Bridgestone Arena (Nashville), CMAC (New York State), and Klipsch Music Center (Indiana). The category was won last year by Gorge Amphitheatre in Quincy, Washington.

In 2016, Fenway got its country on by hosting multiples concerts by Jason Aldean and Zac Brown Band.
