The War On Drugs, the government program, was a total failure. The War On Drugs, the Philadelphia band led by Adam Granduciel and responsible for one of our favorite recent Boston Calling performances, has been anything but.
While we await the follow-up to the group’s 2014 album Lost in the Dream, The War On Drugs recent issued a beautifully spacey 11-minute guitar-rock song titled “Thinking Of A Place,” and today followed that up with news of a 34-date tour of North America and Europe.
Near the start of The War On Drugs’ globetrotting is a September 23 date at the Blue Hills Bank Pavilion in Boston. The weather by the water should be just about perfect for this one, and tickets go on sale May 5.
