Nearly a year ago we draped a V:Music tag around the intriguing pop mind of Billie Eilish and her single “Six Feet Under.” The Los Angeles-raised teenage singer is doing nothing to doubt that Next Big Thing praise, and today released a colorful video for insistent recent single “Bellyache.”

The video was directed by Miles & AJ and finds Eilish out on a desolate highway, which she quickly treats as her own runway.

“Bellyache” was written in Eilish’s bedroom in LA with collaborator and older brother Finneas O’Connell, and of the track she offers the following: “When I write, I try to become different characters. You can write a song about being in love with someone, but you don’t have to be in love with anyone. You can write a song about killing someone, but you don’t have to have killed people. ‘Bellyache’ is about doing one of those things but it’s mostly about regret and guilt… Becoming a character can be really fun; to put yourself in a place you would never really be.”
