Studio 52 is a community artist space located in the heart of Allston, and is proud to support the Boston music scene and local artist community.

As part of the Boston Music Awards' 30th anniversary, the annual December awards banquet is evolving and extending into a more year-long celebration. Part of the festivities is the creation of the 617 Sessions, a program that brings 10 Boston bands and artists into the studio to record new music without cost or contracts, and the series kicks off with a launch party on Friday, March 31 at Hojoko in the Fenway.

Filling the Japanese tavern with homegrown sounds are a trio of performers recognized at last year's BMAs, including DJ/Producer of the Year winner Leah V as well as Dutch ReBelle (nominated for Hip-Hop Artist of the Year) and Party Bois (nominated for Electronic Artist of the Year).

The party is free with RSVP at bostonmusicawards.com/617sessions.

The 617 Sessions series serves as a build-up to the 2017 Boston Musiic Awards, which returns to the House of Blues on Lansdowne Street on December 7. Artists, agents, management, and fans are encouraged to register their interest via 617sessions.com. “The goal with 617 Sessions is simple: Help artists make music,” says Boston Music Awards owner and Vanyaland co-founder Paul Armstrong last month when the series was unveiled. “Beginning in May, we will provide 10 artists with an entire day of studio time, including engineers and studio assistants. Successfully chosen artists will also be given the chance to open the 2017 awards.”
