Small Font Blues: Show Me The Body say no to Coachella, get listed on the poster anyway

UPDATE, January 5 @ 3:28 p.m.: Hey, now they’re playing.

Last spring, Riot Fest announced that Morrissey was performing at their Denver festival… until Morrissey said he wasn’t. In the end, the Mozzer did perform, but it was a weird situation all around.

This week, a similar dispute has emerged between New York hardcore band Show Me The Body and the Coachella Music & Arts Festival. Yesterday, Coachella announced its 2017 lineup, headlined by Radiohead, Beyonce, and Kendrick Lamar, and Show Me The Body were included in the Sunday slates, at the very bottom row in the smallest font available.

Seems cool, except that the band says they actually turned down Coachella.

Oops.

Coachella hasn’t updated their website as of Wednesday (January 4) afternoon, so maybe there’s just a miscommunication here and Show Me The Body will end up performing Indio. Or maybe they’ll just get wiped off the poster.

Life goes on.

Coachella takes place over two weekends, April 14 to 16 and April 21 to 23, at the Empire Polo Field in Indio, California. Tickets are on sale now. Full lineup below.
