Like A Daydream: Ride will release a new studio album in 2017

Back in September, reunited shoegazers Ride debuted a trio of new songs at a gig in Brighton, England. Today, it’s been confirmed that a new record from the influential Oxford quartet will arrive in 2017, an effort that will mark their first album in more than 20 years.

The news was first revealed this morning by DJ/producer Erol Alkan.

“Currently in the studio with Ride producing their forthcoming album,” Alkan wrote on Instagram, a message that captioned a black-and-white image of him consulting Ride guitarist Andy Bell. The band posted their own image to Instagram, as well; check out both below.

Ride’s last studio album was 1996’s Tarantula. The band broke up shortly afterward, only to reunite in 2014, tour Europe and North America, and release a 25th anniversary edition of 1990 classic LP Nowhere.
