Faster, Quicker: Sadie Dupuis’ new project Sad13 teases out some new sounds

Last week we experienced several different emotions after viewing the preliminary lineup for Hassle Fest 8, but perhaps nothing matched the excitement of seeing Sad13 listed among the performers.

We first met Sad13, the we-guess-you-could-call-it-pop-but-who-knows project from Sadie Dupuis of Speedy Ortiz, back in January when she collaborated with Minnesota rapper Lizzo on an excellent tune called “Basement Queens”.

Now, with Hassle Fest coming up this fall — set to take over Brighton Music Hall on November 4 and 5 with a lineup that features Silver Apples, Girlpool, Wolf Eyes, Guerilla Toss, and many others — it appears Sad13 is ready to let some additional tunes fly free through our mini-speakers. This morning, at 11:11 a.m., to be precise, Dupuis teased a new track, and you can hear all its swirling, noisy 31 seconds below.

We are already left wanting more.
