Wesley University: New York’s BOYTOY take it out to the desert in video for ‘Your Girl’

Welcome back, Saara Utracht-Oakner.

The singer-guitarist for one-time Boston indie rock mainstays You Can Be A Wesley is back in town this weekend as her latest project, BOYTOY, play the 2016 Fuzzstival Saturday night at the Middle East in Cambridge. And she’s rolling down the Mass Pike with a fresh new video for BOYTOY’s groovy guitar-rock jam “Your Girl”, which you can watch below.

The Southwestern-themed video was premiered this week by She Shreds Magazine, and was directed by New York videographer Braydon Olson. Says Utracht-Oakner to She Shreds: “I always liked his still photos and when I saw the video he made for the Fences for their song ‘Judy’ I wanted to work with him for a music video and he was down to take on the project. We met up in LA and all discussed video ideas and possibilities and potentials.” Adds BOYTOY’s Glenn Van Dyke: “After making our last music video we were ready to do something prettier and since none of us had ever been to Joshua Tree it seemed like the perfect location.”

“Your Girl” is off BOYTOY’s debut full-length album, Grackle, which came out last fall via PaperCup Music. Buy it here.
