Twenty years ago today, Oasis performed the first of two gigs at Knebworth Park in England. Two decades on, the numbers are still staggering, in what remains maybe Britpop’s high-water mark: 250,000 people attended the shows, and reportedly 2.6 million people applied for tickets, the largest demand for concert tickets in United Kingdom history.
With the British rock band’s Chasing The Sun re-issue of third album Be Here Now arriving in October, new footage from Knebworth has arrived, straight from Oasis’ helicopter. Big Brother Recordings has released ”My Big Mouth (Live At Knebworth Park)”, a track written for Be Here Now that was debuted at the show.
“New song, ‘My Big Mouth’ — it gets us all into trouble,” says Liam Gallagher as he introduced the track. Adds brother Noel: “It fucking rocks.”
Never before seen aerial footage of the show provides the visuals, and the live track can be downloaded when you pre-order the deluxe formats of the Be Here Now re-issue.
Following the band’s release history, the Be Here Now re-issue is the third Chasing The Sun re-release, after the legendary Manchester bands first two albums, Definitely Maybe and (Whats The Story) Morning Glory?, kicked off the series.
